Macbook Screech

I've got a black Macbook. About 8 months old, got it in June 2007. I've got one problem with it. When I open the top, it makes an unbearable screeching noise. I've tried tightening and loosening the screws on the back, that only works for a short time, and then it just goes back to that noise.

Do you guys have any suggestions as to how I can stop this noise, or will I have to go to the Apple Store to get this fixed?

Thanks

    Hi EHOLT90,

I've had the same problem with mine, but loosening on of the screws on the back just a tiny bit (one of the 2 middle ones out of the four on the back) solved the problem and it has now been silent for months.

Shame that didn't work for you. I'd be reluctant to use any lubricants on it. Probably best to take it to an Apple Store and see what they say.

All the best with it, I really know how annoying that sound is.
