Mail 3.2: How can I remove mails from mailboxes automatically?

Situation is this:

I use IMAP. My ISP's IMAP server automatically puts spam mail in a folder called spam (no way I can see to change that). To remove the spam mails from the spam mailbox I have to go the spam mailbox, select all mails and click on the delete button which moves them to the Trash mailbox (also an IMAP mailbox). Then I have to go to the Trash mailbox, again select all mails and again hit the delete button which finally removes them completely from the server.

What I want to be able to do is have the above process done automatically each night. I can't see a way to do this from my mail server, and in Mail 3.2 preferences I don't see a way to clean out mailboxes other than the local Junk and Trash. I tried to figure out a way to do it with mail rules, but they only seem to work on the Inbox. I also tried using Automator, but it seems the task can't be scheduled to run automatically via Automator.

Any ideas appreciated.

I can't help you with your actual question but I do have an idea about your ISP. With my ISP the controls to the SPAM filter are accessed via the web. They instruct us to access our email account from the web and then to set up our SPAM filter the way we want. Give this a try.
