iMac supply, what is the real story?

A lot of people on these boards have actually recieved LCD iMacs, yet there are few around. We read rumors of shortages of LCD's but there is no hard proof.

I have 5 Combo IMacs on order and AFAIK none have been shipped in the UK yet. So some shortage exists... or does it.Are we just seeing overwhelming demand for the product and that Apple just can't keep pace with demand. It would make perfect sense to only ship top-end models and hold back on cheper models if capacity is sold out, after all Apple is here to make money.

When are then next qtrs figurers due out, only then ar ewe likely to see how many that are actually shipping.

the shortage doesn't seem that big simply because most reports you are reading are of people buying FROM APPLE. Either online or at their retail stores.

Apple is giving their own stores preference and many resellers have received no iMacs at all
