Battery only lasts 20 minutes (Powerbook G4)
I've got a Powerbook G4 that's roughly three years old, though the battery is roughly half that age (had a recall for the battery--something about a fire hazard, if I recall correctly). My laptop is now essentially a desktop because the battery won't hold a charge. Even if I dim the screen and don't run iTunes, the battery completely drains in about 20 minutes of surfing the web. (I'm using wireless). If I try to play videos on iTunes, it can drain in even less time.
Does this sound like a hardware problem, or is there a chance it's somehow software related? The $130 or so it would cost to buy a new battery is making me wince. Is there anything I could do short of that that might help?

If so, Apple will give you a free one. If not, it seems to me like you'll have to fork out the money. Check for spares on ebay though, you might be able to pick up a cheap battery there.
There's also software you get for the Mac to tell you info about your battery so you can see what condition it's in. Check apple.com software or versiontracker.com and search for battery.
