Sync Issues - Error 48

in iPod + iTunes + AppleTV edited January 2014
80GB iPod Video getting error 48 messages when attempting to Sync manually



"Attempting to copy to the disk failed, an unknown error occurred (-48)"

+

"The iPod cannot be synced. An unknown error occurred (-48)"



Have recently reformatted to Mac (used to be windows) and using iTunes 7.6.1



Have restored twice since this error first appeared and even tried the Cupertino Date & Time fix suggested on Apple Support



Should I go back to v7.5. Not sure if this is due 7.6.1 (though users report issues from last year) or from my Mac switchover

    BOTH iPod 1.2.3 and iphone 1.1.4 can t sync...and iTunes crashes....

    Gone back to iTunes 7.5 and sadly, no difference



    Wondering if it's possible to revert to an earlier iPod Software Version

    Update: Ran the iPod through Disk Utilty to check & fix any errors after putting it into Disk Mode.



    Sync'd today with no problems after adding new tunes and podcasts. First time I've been able to do this since problems started.



    (Still in iTunes Ver 7.5 though that didn't seem to help, am not tempting fate and updating yet)
