iMac doesn't burn

Hi,

I've been seeing this post on Apple Discussion board and an earlier post here.



My iMac gives me the message "failed to calibrate the laser power level" whenever, and however, I try to burn a CD.



I tried the language solution listed in the post on this forum, but it wasn't effective.

I tried burning at 8x and 4x.

Also tried the following:

different CD media.

upgrading to the latest iTunes.

    My Dual Quad would not burn. Don't remember any message but resetting PRAM did the trick.
