My AppleTV Requirements

in iPod + iTunes + AppleTV edited January 2014
I still haven't bought one, but I really want to, because I have an open HDMI port on my TV.

So far, it's not the right device for me. So, I was thinking, what needs to be added for me to purchase one?
  • DVD/Blueray

  • 250GB Hard drive

  • 2 HD tuners

  • DVR functionality

I'd also like it to be colored in silver/grey or black, but that's not a big deal.



When Apple makes it usable as a DVR, I'll be all over it. I personally am not going to be buying any movies from iTunes so long as they are chained down to my iMac/Apple TV. That does me no good when I'm on a trip, or on another TV. I want the physical media. However, I may purchase the occassional tv show that I miss, but that's not very often since there are other sources for that.

    Sorta, but I use dvd's in my car, in a hotel, at the cabin, etc, so I really need the physical media.
