iTunes and OS X

In OS 9 I could have all the data of my cds (as in the information retrieved from the CDDB) kept in the preference file. This means that the next time I perform a clean install of the system etc, I can just put back the preference file and when I insert a cd, I will have my data on the cd again. Does anyone know where this sort of file is kept on OS X? I would like to reinstall my system but I don't want to have to go through retrieving the data from the CDDB all over again.

    try this: go to your home--->library--->preferences-->I would then pull out all the stuff that says itunes on it. for example (com.apple.iTunes.eq.plist). Pull all the stuff with the name itunes out and see if your playlists have disappeared. if so then these are obvouisly the files you are looking for.

    The file is located in your Home Library folder, and called .cddb or something. It is a hidden file.
