Is anyone out there certified in anything Apple?
How is it in helping you find that great job working with Apple stuff?
I've been looking into it as a way to help find a better job.

I used to be an Apple Product Professional, back when I was working at a reseller. From what I remember, we got certified after we were hired, and I believe that's how many of the techs I knew got their certification.
I think you can get the tech certification on your own, but there's a series of exams and it's not cheap.

I'm certified as a Desktop Technician, Portables (laptop) Technician, and Help Desk Specialist. I work in a public school department and it was instrumental in my landing the job... I have also been able to get our school district authorized by Apple as a self-servicing provider, allowing me to do repairs quicker than the regional Apple depot... and it helped me get a better salary right off the bat. In addition, I do some private consulting and repairs aside from my full-time job, and having the triple certifications has allowed me to command a higher rate than those without.
It is a lot of work to obtain and maintain the certifications, but it's paid off for me.
