Totally Unresponsive Keyboard and Trackpad on MBP

I know there are other posts that talk about intermittent suspensions or delays of the keyboard and trackpad but both of mine are totally unresponsive even after reboot. The only thing that works is my wireless mighty mouse. This MBP is 3 months old. Does anyone have a solution for this or will I have to trek 2 hours north to the closest apple store and consult a "genius"?

    Did you run the firmware update for the keyboard? SHot in the dark...

    See if the keyboard or mouse show up under anything in the System Profiler (Apple Logo > About this Mac > More Info). They should be listed under the USB devices.

    If you don't want the drive, call up apple support. They will overnight a box to you. Pack it up & send it in (overnight). If all goes well, I've had my system back, 3 days total.
