hey everyone...Im new to the mac world, but I just got a new IMAC (the newest one) but the problem is that everytime that I restart the computer or start up it goes into Mac OS 9 and I prefer OSX so I do as it tells me and go into the startup menu and change it to OSX for startup but it only stays for the one time that I restart it and then it goes back to OS 9 any time that it is started after that...What do I do? am i doing something wrong? <img src="confused.gif" border="0">

In OS 9 go to the Startup Disk control panel and click on the one that says OS X. Then Restart

In OS X go to the Startup Disk in System Preferences and do the same thing.

If this doesn't work, I can't help you.

NOTE: There are some people here that are really picky. It's spelled "iMac" not "IMAC." You don't know how much grief I just saved you.

I hope you solve your problem and enjoy your new iMac. I have one too and it's great.

If G4Dude's suggestion's don't work, then I would take it to the nearest Apple Store and let the Genius Bar look at it (assuming you live in the US, of course).
