Taking video from iPod Touch?

My girlfriend has been given an iPod touch from a family member with videos on it bought in his iTunes account. Obviously I need to sync the iPod with my iTunes which will presumably erase it.



Is there any way to preserve the current content, eg by transferring to my iMac and authorising my machine with the relevant details?
