iPod Broken, but it's not the battery or hard drive
This happened a few months ago, but I've ignored it since I'm planning on getting an iPhone when (a) my contract expires in June and (b) the new iPhone comes out (in June?). I hate not having a functioning iPod and it still bothers me that both my battery and hard drive of my iPod are totally fine but it's not working. Here's the symptoms:
1) The iPod is recognized by the computer when it is plugged in. I can view the disk, sync it, all that good stuff. The problem is not the hard drive.
2) The battery was running strong and displayed not signs of weakness before it suddenly stopped working.
3) The only thing I get from the iPod's display is the backlight. Nothing but the backlight.
4) I'm able to use the controls to turn on and off the iPod, activate the backlight, etc.
5) But when I plug in headphones and try to use the controls to play something (guessing of course), nothing plays.
6) I tried restoring it to no avail.
This problem happen to anybody else? Any ideas on how to fix it?
