AppleTalk Disabled on Installation
I strange problem: I had Sys. 9.2.1 installed on a G3 B&W. Installed the OSX package (10.1+) but couldn't get AppleTalk to work (no local networks). It turns out that if you set up multiple ports for Ethernet, that you not only have to delete all but one (if they are assigned Appletalk), but you have to edit your Modem port as well, (doesn't matter what you do) then uncheck it too!
AppleTalk networks will mysteriously reappear as a viable option!
Go figure......
