Infamous Macbook crack

I had seen a whole group on Flickr dedicated to this problem a few months back so I'm guessing it is quite common. I recently had my MacBook get the same crack shown in many of the pictures. I was wondering if anyone knew from experience if AppleCare covers this? I mean it seemed to be a pretty widespread problem.

    It's covered by extended warranty. Cracks around the palm rest of the plastic white and black macbooks. Often, they'll swap for a new macbook, as the old ones are no longer manufactured.
