Question 1

Does anyone know where I can get free fonts?

I really need the font (technical). I'd also like to stock up on a few more so I have a larger choice for projects.

Question 2

How do I install Mac OS 9 on my iMac which only has Mac OS X. I'v tried starting up from the disc but my computer just blows it off and keeps loading X. Any help would be great.

Answer 1: Did a quick search on Yahoo for the phrase "technical font" and the first web site it returned was <a href=""; target="_blank"></a>, which appears to have the font you're looking for <a href=""; target="_blank">here</a>. It also contains a slew of other interesting fonts, and I'm sure you could come up with other sources for free fonts by hitting up the search engines.

Answer 2: More information might be helpful... but with what you've said already, I'm guessing that you're selecting the CD as the boot volume in the Startup Disk panel? If so, you might try simply inserting the CD, and rebooting while holding down the "C" key on your keyboard. That over-ride key has worked on Macintosh computers since pre-PPC days, so I would be somewhat confused if it didn't work for your iMac.

Ohh... an adendum that might be important... All of the fonts are in PC format, but the author of the site very kindly provided a link to the old <a href=""; target="_blank">TTConverter</a> program, which converts between PC fonts and Mac fonts. (Handy thing to have at hand, really -- even if it is a Classic app.)

    <a href=""; target="_blank"></a>

Their navigation sucks, but it's thousands of exceptional fonts that are all free.
