same thing here, I have a pop up everytime I log in.
Yeah, for a year or two Safari and Firefox's popup blockers worked very effectively! They blocked 90% of popups. Now they seem to block none of the spam/ad popups, only the useful ones you need.
I'm curious, anyone know how the stupid ad sites got around the blocking?
And yes I see the ones from AppleInsider. In fact, two just popped up! Or popped under, rather. At least the have the decency to pop "under".
so I'm not the only one! pop-up blocker worked great for... a long time! Now, since 3.0 came I get them all the time. Kind of a bummer, because I use to tell windows/ie lovers, "I never get pop-up's and don't need a 3rd party software to kill them." That alone switched several family members to mac... now I can't say that

Does anyone else using appleinsider - and some other sites - find that Safari's pop-up blocker is ineffective?
what's the deal? use to work great!!!
Hmm, I will have to try it again to be sure, but I think I have not seen pop-ups here with the blocker turned on.

EDIT: same with Firefox 3.
OK, now this is strange. ...
Not so strange. I get no pop-ups on AppleInsider. Safari 3.1.1.
