Macbook displays no longer vivid - Apple quality control issues?

I've had two new Macbooks in as many weeks. Both displays arrived with colours that can only be described as "washed out". The techs in the Mac store in Regent St. agree and when compared with some other Macbooks purchased over a month ok, the colours on the new displays look massively less vivid than the existing ones.



Anyone know of any quality control issues with Macbook displays?



Last time I buy a Macbook or a Macbook Pro for that matter.

    This is what the color calibrator in System Preferences>Display>Color is for.



    Sometimes the calibration gets messed up. Nothing to fret over.
