Well, from reading another post I tried unplugging everything (power, monitors, etc) waiting a bit then plugging everything back in again and VIOLA! The drives came back to the list!
I think especially unplugging the power cable from the Mac Pro might have been the trick?
But anyway the drives showed up and that's all that mattered.

So I start up my Mac Pro and for some reason I can't see my FireWire drives.
In the System Profiler Hardware - Firewire says 'Warning: Unable to list FireWire devices'
Dusk Utility doesn't show it either...
I had that same problem recently... try running DiskWarrior. That program is a miracle, in so many words.
