ScanGear CS 8.5.2

Until installing OS 10.5.2 I have been importing scanned images from a Canon 9900f scanner into Photoshop CS (version 8.0) without difficulty using ScanGear plugin 8.5.2. Now, trying to save a scanned image causes Photoshop to shut down and the image disappears. I have looked for updates to fix the problem and not found any. Suggestions? Thanks.

    You can try a variety of different 3rd party software e.g vuescan. OS X has built-in scan software called Image Capture in /Application. It might support your scanner. You do a preview scan and then you can save the image in whatever format you like - tiff or PNG is best and then open that in Photoshop for editing.
