I went to NYC last June, and though I didn't leave Manhattan, there's more then enough there to entertain you for a while.
Times Square is nice to see at night, if you don't mind the crowd. Not really worth it during the day, but if you want to, there's a few things to do around there.
Go see a broadway show. One of the best performances on earth, in my opinion.
The Empire State Building isn't really worth the wait, but if you can bear it, it provides a great view of the city.
Rockefeller Center is pretty cool if you can get a tour.
I'm sure some locals or people who live closer to NYC can point out more places.
