For some reason, I can't get Logic Express 8 to output audio to my Mac's attached speakers. It outputs fine through my M-Audio interface, though, but I'd just like to listen without headphones.
Mr. Mid, a few questions; do you mean speakers attached to your mac or the built-in ones? If it's the former, how are they connected? Which M-Audio interface? If it outputs fine through that, can you run your speakers off that?
I used to have firewire issues with Logic and my Presonus Firepod where I'd have to reboot the device to get sound out of my monitors, but that was a while back. Various updates seem to have fixed it. Have they updated Express yet? I know my Logic just crawled up to 8.02.

Alex:
I mean the speakers connected to the headphone jack on the mac. The M-Audio interface is just the little usb mobilepre, and yeah, I could run the speakers off that; I just don't want to.
I hope that fixes it for you, if not, maybe the problem is sniggering at you somewhere between Logic's audio preferences, AudioMidi setup, or even the Sound system preference page. Really though, it should be sortable from Logic. Best of luck chum.

I haven't checked on updates. I'm on 8.0.1.
Oooh. Looks like 8.0.2 is out!

Oh well. I can't find it.
Edit: I may have to try this.
