Stupid question....when I go to change my desktop pattern to a custom one, how come my selections donT show/or greyed out?!

In os9, I just imported jpgs, do the osX desktops need to be saved into a different format?

Thanks.

I know that PICT, JPEG, GIF, PNG, BMP, and TIFF will work -- there may be even more.

Where are you having problems? You can either drag-and-drop an image onto the image well or select a *folder* of images to list below. Remember, when you select "Choose Folder" from the popup menu, you're supposed to select a folder of images, not the images themselves. Seeing them "greyed out" here is perfectly normal -- because you aren't supposed to be able to select images, only the folders.
