Magical trash return

I religiously empty my Trash folder. At least with "Secure Empty Trash", or even with "Permanent Eraser". And when I do, the Trash indeed gets emptied, as you would expect, and indeed stays empty... for a little while. Because, since a month or 2 there are a few items – sofar one empty folder, and one jpg – that re-appear on the desktop a little while after I had emptied them from the Trash. Sometimes within 5 minutes of emptying the Trash, sometimes a few days and intermittent re-starts later.

Changing permissions on those files and then trashing them didn't make a difference. They still come back. Restarting after emptying the Trash doesn't make a difference either: they still come back a little while later.

Anybody have any suggestions how I finally could really get rid of those files?

I know it's annoying. Recovered files? Don't let it worry you it happens all the time. As far as I know those files aren't readable.

EDIT: Jpeg back on your desktop? Now that is weird. Search Apple support for it.

That jpg on the desktop is certainly readable when it has 'risen from the grave', 35 times overwriting!, that I thought I had buried it in...

Apple support? What URL should I look for?
