Hey dudes,

Don't expect a lot of replies this close to WWDC but hey, I can try

I had to go check the console because a Java app I made wouldn't run, but there I also noted the following messages:

7/06/08 10:18:29 com.apple.launchctl.System[2] launchctl: Please convert the following to launchd: /etc/mach_init.d/chum.plist

7/06/08 10:18:29 com.apple.launchctl.System[2] launchctl: Please convert the following to launchd: /etc/mach_init.d/dashboardadvisoryd.plist

7/06/08 10:18:39 org.ntp.ntpd[24] Error : nodename nor servname provided, or not known

Is any of these things bad, or is there something I can or have to fix?

Also after this there's a LOT of output from VMware, even though the app isn't being launched...

Hope some of you hardcore UNIX guys can help me out

You could try using main menu (freeware) to rebuild the laucn services database file and also do a repair permission as something there may also be out of whack.

You can ignore the warnings about Apple's system software. All of the traditional services haven't been fully migrated to launchd yet.
