Old iPhone question
A friend mentioned that if I removed the sim card from my iPhone, it would essentially become an
iPod Touch. Is this true? And if yes, how difficult is it to remove the sim card. Also, do you think
the App Store would still work with it when that comes out?
Hopefully this is true. I'd like to give it to my niece for her birthday this August. I know that she is
jonesing for one.

The SIM card is very easy to remove, you just need a thin prodding device to stick in the SIM ejector whole. With the old iPhones, you can use it as an iPod Touch without activation. No one knows what will be the case with the new iPhones. At any rate, with the new iPhones it will be a lot harder to get an iPhone without a contract from AT&T
