Trouble using wireless hotspots with Leopard
I'm using Leopard 10.5.3 with my Macbook Pro 2.4, and I am often unable to use wireless hotspots. When the hotspots work without any kind of login or "automatic webpage" it seems to work fine, but when a webpage is supposed to automatically come up so I can enter information, it doesn't work. Examples of places where I am unsuccessful are Panera Bread and the hotel I stayed at this week (the Peabody in Orlando).
I have configured Automatic and it works for most hotspots, but these particular ones do not work. Even when I create a new configuration and use DHCP, etc. it doesn't work.
Any suggestions? I am not network-configuration-savvy, so hopefully your recommendations aren't too technical. I want it to JUST WORK, darnit! I thought that's why I bought a Mac!

Was at Albany Airport the other day and couldn't access a Boingo Hotspot, not even to pay the fee they charge to use the wireless. Any geniuses out there care to try to help?
Much appreciated -

I hate to keep replying to my own message here but I've been struggling furiously to get this problem resolved. I think I've come up with a potential solution - with hotspots that have "splash" screens requisite prior to surfing the web, it sounds as if disabling the pop-up blocker may help. I will let you know when I try it.
