it will happen, who should it be?

Back in the day Guy Kawasaki, would have been a great choice as far as a great evangelist.

There isn't anyone like Steve, but we do need to find as good a replacement as possible. Someone needs to be getting primed, and put in the public spotlight so folks can start to like / trust / warm up to him / her.

PS Sorry folks, I didn't know I was starting a poll, without options

I think when it seems inevitable that Steve is on way out, we'll see Apple hire a rockstar into an EVP role, or president of a BU. After a couple of years they'll transition him or her to the big seat. There are plenty of rockstars in Silicon Valley from which to choose.

He'd kind of be a good choice, but he's very shy and I don't know if he'd actually want the job. You can't just make someone CEO, they have to want it also.

I hope to god it's not Phil Schiller or Bertrand Serlet.

I'm still rooting for Scott Forstall. If he straightens his posture up (I know I sound like his mom when I say that) and just has a bit more presence, he would be a great front man.

The fact he's young means he has longevity and he is also an intelligent guy so knows what developers and professionals want to hear as opposed to merely consumers. My only concern over his youth would be a lack of experience but he's proved himself enough in past events that I think he's a really strong candidate.

Yup agreed. He does need to fix that posture. You can't lead Apple looking like a young Mr Burns and expect the stock not to tank
