Time Machine With Iphoto (search wasnt helpful)

I just have a quick question, I used Time Machine to back up my computer. My harddrive crashed, lost everything, thankfully i used TM. now, i HAD 2000+ pics in iPhoto. i used my TM hard drive to restore on my new HD, and everything but my iPhoto Library came back. I dont care about the lost photos, but i dont want this to happen again. any help would be appreciated as to how to make sure i dont lose these files again.

    Do test restores. That is the only way we in the IT industry can verify if a backup has succeeded. Copy a test picture into iPhoto, delete it, then try and restore it. Do this for your documents, apps, music, videos, etc. A backup is only as good as it's restore.
