Missing monitor resolutions in OS X 10.1.5
I successfully updated my G4 'sawtooth' to OS X 10.1.5 today. But now I can't set my monitor to 1152x870 display resolution. My only choices close to this size are 1024x768 or 1280x960.
Under 10.1.4 the 1152x870 and many (10-15) other options were in the list in the Displays Preferences, but some, including 1152x870 were grayed out unless I unchecked the 'Show modes recommended by the display'. Apparently 1152x870 wasn't recommended for my monitor, but worked fine. Until now!
Now only 5 options exist with only the 640x480 option gray while the 'Show modes recommended by the display' is checked. I also have a 17" IBM monitor connected through an 8Mb PCI card (don't remember card details, but pre-sawtooth in age) which still shows the same (MANY-at least 20) resolution options as before.
Why can't I get back my 1152x870 resolution? I'd go higher but the 1280x960 will only do 60Hz (flickers) on my monitor and 1024x768 is just too big.
Oh, the monitor is an 'NEC Xe21' connected to the AGP card with the VGA plug.

Whatever the choosen resolution, it's limited to 75Hz.
My desktop was usualy set at 1024*768/120Hz or 1280*1024/85Hz whith 10.1.4, but now I max out at 75Hz

Note : I had the same problem on Jaguar, but i thought it was a bug...
What's your graphic card brand ?
It seems to be an ATI-only bug.
