Any way to download a standalone installer for 10.1.5?

I have a buddy who has my old iMac DV. She's on dial-up, and there's NO WAY we're going to sit and wait for 22MB to download that way.

I'd like to download the standalone installer, slap it on a CD (along with QuickTime 6 and the Office X service update, both of which I already have downloaded) and take them to her place and install them.

I can't find 10.1.5 at Apple's site. Does anyone know if it's going to be available there? I see where 10.1.3 and 10.1.4 are, so...

Download it via software update on your comp, and go to save as. Burn the package onto a CD.

Do NOT install QT 6. Yes, it will be better, and the quality blows my mind. But I would not advise installing this on a machine permanently, it was just nice to check out. It's buggy. pscates, if it's mission-critical (it's a girl, so hell yes it is, I assume!) then QT 6 is a no-go.

    Spart, thanks for the tip.

I'm sorry, but these answers to these questions are vague...

    Read the post again:

"I have a buddy who has my old iMac DV. She's on dial-up, and there's NO WAY we're going to sit and wait for 22MB to download that way."

    and

"I'd like to download the standalone installer, slap it on a CD (along with QuickTime 6 and the Office X service update, both of which I already have downloaded) and take them to her place and install them"

Neither weren't answered to properly. Versiontracker does not have a link...it says to use the Software Update Feature (which more or less is the installer).

"I can't find 10.1.5 at Apple's site. Does anyone know if it's going to be available there? I see where 10.1.3 and 10.1.4 are, so..."

Apple's web site doesn't have a separate download either.

Honestly, the whole Software Update and iDisc (for dial-up modem users) are useless. I'm here at work on a DSL line and Apple won't provide a link for it?

I'll try to get onto my iDisc here at work...I hope.

Got the iDisc working here at work...guess what?

    It ain't in my iDisc...

The only way you can get this 10.1.5 update is through the software update feature in OS X. Gee, not everyone has high speed access Mr. Jobs...get a clue. At least put it in my iDisc!!!!

Yeah, it'll be posted a month from now on their OS X updates list...

Now I'll have to spend 2 hours with the update this evening...and I would sure like a copy of it for myself.

C'mon guys. We go through this almost everytime Apple releases an update. It is first released through SW Update, then, in a day or three, it is posted for DL.

I cant get ANY highspeed at home, so Ill wait until I can DL the thing at work.

Thanks for the response, artman and keda. The earlier answers weren't taking into account my particular situation (it's for a friend who DOESN'T have broadband...I do, and simply want to download the installer to my desktop, burn it to CD, take it to her, etc.).

The versiontracker.com thing only tells you to do the Software Update.

    That's not what I need.

I'll keep checking Apple's site a couple of times a day. If anyone stumbles across a standalone 10.1.5 download, please let me know:

    [email protected]

    Thanks!

It's not been posted anywhere yet. It'll appear <a href="http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=106713"; target="_blank">here</a> very shortly - probably before the weekend.

I could send you the package, but it is too big for my or your iDisk and e-mail won't do it either.

If I gave you the address of my server together with instructions, would you be able to get it from there? If so, mail me at [email protected]

Thanks everyone too. Just downloaded it here from work. Now I can install it myself. I feel better sometimes doing that instead of having Apple do it for me.

Off topic...Kate I wandered back to your site and this picture caught my eye...
