OS X promo points to Jaguar in September
Apple just started a new Mac OS X promotion which lets you receive 75 free prints in iPhoto if you purchase OS X between now and September 2, 2002. Could this mean that Apple is trying to entice people to buy OS X without waiting for Jaguar? More importantly, does this mean that Jaguar won't ship until after the promotion expires, i.e. in September?
This promo reduces my hopes that we will get Jaguar at MWNY in July. What do you think the promo means?

The preview of Quicktime 6 also expires in October, and I suspect that means Apple expects to have the licensing issues resolved and the player shipping with Jaguar by that time.
My money is on late September. I seem to remember the last time we were promised something "late summer", it appeared at the very last moment.

I agree. Apple Expo Paris seems like the most likely event for the Jaguar release.

I guess since we got Mac OS X Public Beta in Paris, we might as well get Jaguar, the first truly functional version of OS X there too. I just wish September would come sooner...

At that time, they didn't even qualify it as "late" summer. That's why Jobs pulled out the dictionary definition of summer since it was well after Labor day.
I am one of those people who believes it could show at any time, most likely Seybold or Paris. I hope for Seybold, I am sure about Paris. Regardless, this one will cost money, and will be 10.5.
Just my thoughts.
And wow, I must have been gone a long time, Belle is a moderator, thats cool.

Or Seybold San Francisco, which runs this year from September 9-12 and was where 10.1 was released last year.
