Summary of suggested literature:

ICANN is in the process of voting on approving unlimited new Internet domain names. So for instance, instead of ebay.com, ebay could have .ebay. These new domain names would be very expensive to dissuade domain squatters and would give priority to people with trademarked products.

In terms of Apple as a whole, this means Apple could by ".apple" and could have web addresses like http://ipod.apple or http://iphone.apple or http://mac.apple.

But on to the point of the thread:

Apple could also buy ".me" and their mobile me users could be http://johndoe.me.
