iPod Touch highway access?

I believe there isn't (currently) and way to use (the maps) feature of the iPod Touch while driving, is this right?



The odds of Apple coming up with a software update that would allow use of some of the features while not near a wi-fi network? your thoughts?

    I'm pretty sure that if you load the map prior to departure, you can still use the map. But, if you try to view another map, you'll wipe out your first map.



    Maybe ATT will offer a data-only package which of course would need a plug-in attachment to use that network. Or just switch to an iPhone. That's what I'm doing on 07/11.
