IDEA: New Kinds of Websites

What if there were to be an application that was a broswer, yet, instead of downloading HTML it would download plug-ins for the application and they would be like webpages, Let me explain:

Imagine the front Apple page as an application, it would have tabs, buttons, pop-ups, and images. Now, you can put that stuff into a .nib file and add a bit of functionality, and it would work!

\tSounds like a bad idea, yet, for pages that the front page does not change often, all it would have to do is download new images and text.

Some could also use drawers, for online polls and such!

Can it work? The true aqua experience on the internet?

all the functionality you've described can be done with dhtml or flash, but without the headache of trying to program an 'app' in place of a webpage.

Welcome to WebObjects. That's what it does basically. Applications that can be run on many different platforms (a la Java). Maybe M3D Jack or someone with more WO experience can tell you about it.

Java at the moment is too slow on most computers. I stick with pure HTML (No way DHTML) with images on my pages thank you
