Is An iPhone Unlocked After 2 Years?
When the initial 2 year AT&T contract ends (next year for 2007 buyers) does that make the iPhone legitimately unlocked so we can then switch to any GSM carrier and data plan? and still access all the Apple services for iPhone without limitation?
i would think the answer is "yes" but i've never seen a definite answer anyplace.

Apple services require the carrier to have Apple servers in their premises --- T-Mobile USA doesn't have Apple servers in their system, so you are not going to get Apple services.
Once it's unlocked, you can go to any GSM carrier --- assuming that they are not going to screw you with data plans.

I will give you a detailed answer about this. No Iphone won't legitimately gets unlocked after your AT&T contract ends. You should get either unlock code from your service provider or remote unlocking service from online providers to unlock your Iphone. So that you can use your mobile with any other GSM network. If you want to get remote unlocking service visit the site Wickedunlock.com . Unlock your mobile by yourself using unlocking instrutions
