Install extra IDE PATA drives inside G4 Powermac

My external FW PATA/IDE enclosure has failed after a few years' service. I could replace it, or even NAS the drives, but they aren't new either. Can i install them internally in my G4 400 MHz AGP Sawtooth? It already has two internal PATA HDs.

I seem to remember two problems:

1. The 400 MHz AGP Sawtooth G4 can't address internal HD's bigger than 128 GB or something? My two externals are 250 GB each.

2. I would need a second IDE ribbon connector, but where does it plug in?

Thanks all,

I think you are correct, that system, you will have to re-partition the drives to 120 GB or so. It should then be able to use the whole drive, but just mounted 2 partitions for each drive. you will also have to get the 2 ch IDE cable, which is pretty common. There should be an open spot on the logic board, somewhere around the hinge.

Or, you can shove a IDE PCI card in it that's Mac compatible. check out macsales.com

I got the SIIG SATA for my B&W, works great.
