I have a PowerMac G5 (single 1.8 GHZ purchased fall of 2003). When can I anticipate an iMac, Macbook or MBP which will be roughly twice as powerful as this machine?

Hokay, I came from an iMac G5 single 1.6 GHz processor to a new 24" 2.8 GHz iMac, and it was like a night and day difference. I maxed it out with 4 gigs of ram from Trans International. Images open in PS CS 3, Aperture 2, and Nikon Capture NX almost instantly on the new iMac.

Cool. Now it's just a matter of getting the $ together.
