Anyone using OS X for prepress?
Is anyone out there using OS X in a prepress environment? I desperately want to make the switch full time to X but I am unable to print custom page sizes and there is just an all around lack of functionality to print center. I tried to contact some of my equipment companies to find out if I needed some special PPD. This is what HP said.
Custom page size issues are not specific to this printer or even HP printers in general. This issue relates to a PDE (Printer Dialogue Extension) implementation issue with apple. Unfortunately the only thing you can do at this point is call Apple and encourage them to resolve the issue as quickly as possible. Until then you will need to print custom page sizes from OS 9.
Is this being addressed in Jaguar(10.2)? I am curious to know. I would appreciate any info.
