When I try booting up my iMac its freezes(with the color wheel) once it gets to showing my background with no dock or anything but wallpaper. Any suggestions?
Have you tried running "Repair Permissions" ?
To do so:
Open the Applications\\Utilities folder (COMMAND+SHIFT+U).
Open the "Disk Utility" application
Click "Macintosh HD"
Click "Repair Disk Permissions"
This should take a few moments, depending on the size of the volume.
