quicktime problem

hi,



im having a problem with sound when i play downloaded movies on quicktime. i have video but no sound.with ripped dvd i get sound and video same with original dvd.



can anyone please help

    It is more likely a bad codec issue can you please list any codecs you have in the following folders.



    HD/Library/Quicktime

    Home/Library/Quicktime



    If any I will be able to let you know as there a few which are known to cause issues



    These are



    Xvid Alpha 1.0 or below

    x264Encoder

    avc1Decoder

    mp4vDecoder

    mp4vEncoder

    xvidEncode



    The ones I use and have never seen any issues are



    perian 1.0

    flip4mac latest version
