Read the bottom of this article, and you'll see the iPhone, is a much better phone than camera. Which is fine, except so many folks want a better camera with it?

Yes, I noticed that the other 2 cameras are 8 Mega Pixels, so there isn't much chance for the iPhone to compete, but as a marketing tool, Apple may have to step up to the plate

Skip

PS I'm fine with these results as I have a very nice Nikon D300 CAMERA for taking pictures, but with the on slot of folks wanting a good camera with their phone, Apple may just have to up the anti in this department.

We all have digi cams for those special moments but how many of us carry them around with us all day to have ready at the hand on a moments notice. Im sure for most the answer would be no hence the concept of camera phones. Its ok for viewing on the phone but 3.2mp would have been better.

How many other smart phones, with 'better' cameras sold 1 million in their first three days?

Apple's iPhone marketing seems to be doing just fine. Particularly when they don't even have to pay for most of it!

Phone cameras are generally pathetic, high megapixel count coupled with super small sensor sizes means the photosites are so small they make noisy images.

The race for higher and higher mpix counts is just like the old CPU race for GHz ... generally meaningless apart from marketing numbers.

Best phone camera i ever had was on the SonyEricsson S700 ... was only 2mpix but images were superb.

I suggest you look at recent samples from the Moto ZN5 (5mp) or the Samsung Innov8 (8mp).
