Appearance changes in Jaguar

We've already noticed the sharper aqua widgets in Jaguar pre-release builds and now in some Apple web pages:

I've heard that the men highlights ignore the Aqua stripes now, and that some fields like in the Finder's find function don't have aqua stripes.

Now Apple has a new Charcoal/Black Apple logo on its home tab:

Do you think the menubar in Jaguar will go to all black-and-white?

It seems as though Apple is trying to make Aqua a little simpler in its appearance in subtle, small ways. Are there any other small changes you know of or would like (and don't say Platinum appearance -- be realistic ).

The stripe-less "find" feature was from an extremely early build. The stripes have since been fixed.

I'd say the charcoal apple on the website is meant just to reflect the look of the iPod. Don't you think it looks about the right color?

I don't think the website entirely reflects how Jaguar will look. I don't think people would be too happy if all their tabs looked like this:

I noticed the other day that every page under a tab on Apple's website had a different color theme. I don't go there that often so I wasn't sure if it was new or not, but seemed to me an indication the Jaguar would probably let you at least choose one of those colors in preferences as your dominant one. Not as good as themes, but at least something that lets you customize your Mac.

Nah, that's been there forever. Not that you couldn't choose multiple colors in Jaguar, that'd actually be a real nice feature (and very easy to implement), but if it is there it's unrelated to the website.

And you thought that graphic design ppl were pissed off with blue!

But please Apple, bring themes back! You can have an aqua blue theme, and aqua variable (greyscale widgets, the OS changes their color like in IE) theme, a Jaguar theme and a Milk theme.

I likethe idea of a milk theme. But if there's something more than anything else I want, it's to get rid of those goddam stripes. <img src="graemlins/bugeye.gif" border="0" alt="[Skeptical]" /> I hate those stripes more than anything and it's probab;y the one thing other than missing apps - that stopped me from upgrading to OSX (although at work and at home I'm completely OSX now...)

    You can find a stripe-less Milk theme at <a href="http://homepage.mac.com/max_08/index.htm"; target="_blank">bOOzo's website</a>.
