Full price just a publicity stunt?
It is probably doubtfull, but what if announcing the price of Jaguar so prematurely was just a publicity stunt?
Everyone by now has heard how Microsoft wants Apple to promote OS X more, and what better way to promote the operating system then by offering incredible discounts when the system is finally for sale. Charging that much cash for Jaguar also seems to counter-act thier 'Switch' campaign. Nobody would want to leave behind thier "clunky box" just to be taken in by a Microsoft-esque Upgrade-Path for thier OS.
With the speed increases and great new features I don't know anybody who wouldn't upgrade (from any previous Mac OS) if the price is right.

It better not be since I already ordered Jagwire.

Well, has your credit card been charged yet? Usually Apple doesn't charge until the day it ships. So, they have plenty of time to make a change.

They are currently assembling my Jaguar

That's true. I didn't think of that.
Jaguar is $129. There's no changing it. The amount of features in it completely justifies the price tag: it's got more new stuff in a single release than we've EVER seen with ANY operating system before--not from Microsoft, and not from Apple.

I hope you are going for the optional heated seats and the 5.1 surround sound system.
Oh, is it the 6 cylinder or the 12.

Apple said its a 6, but they say its just as good as the 12 cylinder. Even better in certain areas!

I'm not sure that EmAn is old enough to have a credit card. Better ask EmAn's Mom.
ouchhhh! play nice kids....actually that was pretty funny, but we do heap out a bit of abuse on poor EmAn (though his post count crys out for at least a little ribbing...) g
ps..ordered my 10.2 from Education Store...i recommend that everyone do that

Yeah, thats what I did. It made the price oh so reasonable.
the better question would be what "didn't" i do to his mom...

It's about twice the price.
I'm in high school, and even though it's technically against their policy to sell to HS students, they'll do it (although if you get audited, you'll have to fax them a report card and Student ID card).

Doesn't it take longer to get there? UGA's bookstore take, oh, like 4 months, to get any new software. It really sucks. Maybe Dook's is better...

But I'm buds with the Bookstore director, who is a Mac fan, and I talked to him about it in the week or two preceding the releases. So maybe it would help to give the bookstore a call to find out and prompt them to get on the ball.
