Want to connect the 24 inch iMac and a 39 inch 16:9 LCD TV as a display. The two display is not going to be seen next to each other, it is good to use the TV as a copy of the iMac display. The problem is when the TV is select as the copy of the display, the iMac display on the top and bottom is decrease even though the resolution is the same. The iMac resolution is 1920x1200 and the TV resolution is 1920x1080. The menu bar is not display on the TV. The iMac and TV is select as two display and put the menu bar on the TV display with the two resolution and the iMac display is okay and the TV display does not see the menu. What is a good way for the problem since the iMac and TV is not put next to each other? Thanks.

First, I would expect the iMac display to be reduced in size when mirroring with the TV. After all it has 120 more vertical pixels than the TV.

Second, it sound like you have over-scanning on your TV. There are two ways that you can fix it. One is by deselecting over-scanning in the Options tab in your TV window of the Display Systems Preference. The other is adjusting your TV to reduce its screen display to eliminate over-scanning. (My solution is to have the Mac do over-scanning while the TV displays a reduced picture.) Play around with these setting to get what you want.
