ok my iPod needs a new battery, its a 30g video ipod fifth generation, and from the first ones available on the market, it5s battery life is no longer than 3-4 hours and on video around 2 hours. all this was when it was new now it sucks, i'm wondering if I get a new battery it will last more hours than when i got it new. not sure if this was a problem with the firsts apple batteries or just the model. any advice if it turns out it will last the same. i'll just buy a new one that it battery last much longer.

thanks in advance

I replaced my Mini's battery at the beginning of the year. The new battery was lasting about 20% longer than the original battery when it was new. However, the iPod was buggy after the surgery (random shut-downs) to the point of being unusable after a while, so I replaced it with a new Nano. In my case, it wasn't worth the $30 for the battery, and the drive is now used for backup of my online music purchases.
