Adobe announces Premiere 6.5

Premiere 6.5 was announced today; not shipping until the fall. The question is who will buy it? Who's already switched to Final Cut Pro? And will this new version of Premiere render any faster (than the previous version in OS 9)?

As for the Realtime thing in Premiere.

It's going for different approach. Yes, Adobe claims everything can be preview in realtime, but in order to do this the app has to downgrade the quality of the clip in order to play them back at full speed.

Final Cut Pro does profile a lot more accurate (almost no quality loss) result on those realtime effects.

However, both Premeire and FCP require rendering of the effects in order to be viewed to external display via firewire.

Anyway. I have switched to FCP and currently have no plan to move back to Premiere
