iPod shuffle volume limiter?

My wife just won an iPod shuffle through her work and we're thinking about giving it to our son for his 8th birthday or Christmas (both in late December). My only concern is that he would listen to the music too loudly.



I know many of the iPods with screens have a volume limiter built in, but does the shuffle? I didn't see anything on the Apple site and I'm thinking it doesn't. Please correct me if I'm wrong. Thanks.

    You can do so with the 1Gen Shuffle, so I imagine that the same can be done with the 2Gen. Plug it in and find out -- I doubt that the kid will notice that the box has been opened.
