Screw Aqua - I want Hot Tamales.
I'd like to replace everything that is blue in the Aqua theme with Ruby (like the iMac) red.
This would include:
Scroll bars
Buttons
Desktop (I like the new default Jaguar one)
Any blue icons (Finder, MSIE, Quicktime, etc.)
Folders
The blue Apple logo in the menu bar
Blues that would NOT be changed are ones that represent the sky or water, like the Mail icon or the iMovie icon.
Any two-toned object would become two toned to the same intensity in red, like the finder icon.
Things that are currently red shoulde probably be left alone (e.g., the red X)
Basically a new theme, new desktop and new wallpaper.
Any volunteers?

Just be warned that to completely get rid of all of the redness (it's unbelievable how much of the system gets changed to red, even little icons in popup menus in the system prefs), you have to reinstall.
As far as the colors though, I've been begging Apple for years to have more than one or two "shades" of Mac OS X, if you can call 'graphite' a shade (it's more of a mode, really). Have it dynamic, like a hue slider, and all of the colors will be based off of it or modified just like via the Hue/Saturation tool in Photoshop. Audion does this for its skins, why can't Mac OS X allow us to express ourselves in whatever hue we want? Blue is getting old, Apple. 10.3, I want a hue variation slider.
Search for a theme called Pomegranite. Does just that.

Yowza, the only reference I find is in Japanese.....
Any luck on seeing some English Pomegranates?
Or is there a theme maker software out there?

ting5, blood red
I know there are third party themes out there (there's a really cool looking "Milk" theme which is EXACTLY what I want!) but call me nervous or unadventurous but I don't want to f**k up Aqua with a third-party hack -- I want it as a Apple option in the Appearance drop down in the General control panel (or a new Appearance control panel).
I like the idea of having a hue slider like audion to control highlights and scrollbars - that would please a LOT pf people!
C'mon Apple, people are begging for this and it wouldn't deviate too much from the standard Apple interface any more than Graphite does from Aqua!!

I've advocated this in other threads, too.
Aqua Theme, Variable theme, Jaguar Theme.
I'm not sure that a hue slider would be the best way to go, how about a colours menu (like IE 5), and a custom button opening the colours utility box.
