After one of the many iTunes updates my CD burning has become completely slow. Like twenty minutes to burn a CD. I'm on a G5 1.6 single which isn't super robust, but it used to take me about five minutes to burn a disc.
iTunes uses the speed of what the internal drive is capable of burning at some of the drives firmware apple has out causes slow burn speeds quite a bit.
In itunes try setting the brun speed to the max possible and see if it makes any difference.
If that doesn't work it could well be the media being used as some does cause very slow burn speeds I have noticed this from different media I have used.
